PVC clubs

Hey DIY strengthsters,

I'm glad everyone is enjoying their DIY PVC clubs.  They are a great way to get the feel of club swinging at a nice price.  The ones you can get on this site are done with extra care and added bonuses.  First, your PVC parts have knobs, edges and or other protrusions.  I sand them all off for you.  Then I also paint them with a black primer.  Check out the pics.  They are nice and must have if you are new to club swinging. And if your not to handy, I've got ya covered.

  1. Just wanted to say thanks for the plans for these clubs. I'd been looking to add something new to my workouts, and this is most definitely it. After I found your site I bought some short lengths of PVC that I've been swinging around in the morning (per your instructional video), and I loved it. So tonight I got the rest of the stuff to make not one, but two sets, because I figured I'd want some different weights. So now I'll have a set with 1 1/2" grip to a 3" barrel, and a set with a 1" grip to a 2" barrel.

Tomorrow night they get cemented together. I can't wait to try 'em out. Probably going to try them empty for a bit, and then fill them with sand once I've got the movements down.

Thanks again. I love your site and will certainly keep checking back for more posts.

  2. Awesome site! I just made my first pvc club. it's 34" long with a 1 1/2" grip and a 4" barrel. I loaded it full of sand and then had to reload/lighten it several times so that I could swing it one handed 10 times without my grip/arms failing!!!!! I weighed it and couldn't believe it only weighed 17lbs!! I'm guessing fully loaded it would weigh about 25 lbs. The only thing I did different was to put the clean out cap on backwards so the square "lug" is inside the club so I can set the club down on the floor on its barrel with the handle up and it stays. My next project will be a set of shorter clubs!
